This really is one of my favourite restaurants in York, the restaurant is very atmospheric. The flavours are very tasty
I really like it here. We went for lunch at about 2pm. Plenty of space, in fact it's a big restaurant with lots of capacity. I ordered from the set lunch menu, it's good value at 12.50 for two courses. The hot and sour soup was disappointing, they've changed the recipe since I was last here when it was really nice. Beef in black bean sauce with fried rice was lovely. My mate had Special Chow Mein from the main menu and it was delicious, apart from the squid which was overcooked and possibly frozen - it certainly didn't taste like fresh squid. Leaving the squid aside everything else was lovely.
Came to eat here a couple years ago and the food is just as good as I remember. Very friendly staff and the food came very quickly.
Amazing! Service and food were superb, portions are generous and the menu is vast with a fantastic selection of authentic dishes. One of our party ordered the seabass and a whole fish was served! That's very generous and it was absolutely delicious. Good value for money and arguably the best chinese restaurant I have ever eaten. Can't wait to book again when we come back next year! After living for 8 years in China, I miss spicy Sichuan and Hunan food. Found this place while on holiday in York - enjoyed food and service. Great place !
Came here all the time as a child and still come back whenever I get the chance as it is to this day my favourite restaurant ever and the best Chinese food I've had outside of china. Ate here again a few days ago and our food arrived very quickly and was even better than I remembered. This place never disappoints. - best dumplings I've ever had - soft fried noodles with bean sprouts also recommended - jade fried rice with prawn is excellent - shredded potato is really good and flavourful - braised aubergine was amazing
The poached fish here is amazing—so tender and full of bold, spicy flavor. I also loved the “Old Chef’s Cabbage,” simple but packed with wok hei. Plus, the staff were super friendly and made us feel right at home. Will definitely be back!
